Do I need an assessment?
If you cannot decide what adaptations you need, if any, or what vehicle is suitable for your requirements, then clearly you need advice. If your disability is such that you cannot just visit a car showroom and take a test drive, an assessment is really necessary if you are to avoid what could be a disastrous choice. If you do not know if you will be able to drive or not, then an assessment will help you to find out. In short, if you have doubts about something, a Driving Assessment can help you.

Driver Assessment can be particularly helpful in deciding future mobility needs for those who have become disabled as a result of an accident or injury at work. Reports can be specially tailored for use as evidence during claims.

Can everyone who goes  for an Assessment drive a vehicle?
Whenever possible a  vehicle will  be available to drive at  your assessment. Approximately 95% do so. For some it will only be possible using high-tech individually tailored adaptations. For just a few, regrettably, it may prove that driving a vehicle is inadvisable or impossible.

What happens afterwards?
Following your visit  a full report is compiled with adaptation requirements and further tuition or roadcraft support where required. Reports of this type can be used in conjunction with having your vehicle adapted, securing financial assistance from grant making trusts and organizations such as Motability.

Where can I get an assessment?
Look in  Assessment Centres for the nearest one to you.
